Battle Creek Studios is the Art work of Jonathan Graver, a self-taught and self-published Canadian Realist artist. He was born in England in 1973,and immigrated to Canada in 1980 with his family at age six. He is the Son of Linda Willems and Derek Graver and has 3 siblings.
Growing up young Jonathan was always a highly creative and imaginative child. With a burning passion for drawing, painting and anything he could create an image on. After aquiring a water coloring set at age four, he decided what better way to thank his parents then by painting his very first master piece on their brand new duckdown comforter! He says he "hasn't been able to stop painting since!"
 In 1988, Jonathan decided to move back to England, while there at age 16, he had has first solo exhibtion at The Rochester Museum of fine Art, in Kent England. This was a major inpact on him. After the exhibition, Jonathan knew that this is what he wanted to do. He had found his calling! Afterward, he started doing commissions for private as well as corporate collections, such as Courage Fine Ales, and Greenking breweries. He eventually moved back to Canada in 1991.
He says, "Since, then alot has changed!" He met his wife Kandice and her two small children, Jonny and Kayla in Owen Sound in 2000. At the same apartment building where he lived.He never knew her name and referred to her as "The woman two doors down".They began a friendship, he recalls,and before too long it was very clear that Kandice was the woman he was meant to be with. He states that the truth be told after only a week of knowing her, he knew she was the "One".They were married in June of 2008, and still reside in Owen Sound, Ontario. They now share another two children, Joey and AJ (Antony-James). His wife has been a constant support with his art, something he says truly cherish's.
He has found his niche and for the most part he has focused on Wildlife found in Canada, especailly animals near extinction such as The Eastern Grey Wolf, Bald Eagle, and the Arctic Polar Bear. He has just recently started to self publish and promote his work! The main reason this web-site has been built.
